Safety in mind at ChemUK 2023

We are preparing to highlight safe, innovative solutions for essential process industries at the forthcoming ChemUK 2023 expo.

The latest developments with our range of filters and housings will be on show to an audience of chemical plant operators, supply chain manufacturers and user industries gathering at Birmingham’s NEC on 10-11 May 2023.

A key theme is how our proprietary technology, built up over 38 years, helps to reduce operator exposure, minimise risks and improve process economics in potentially hazardous production environments worldwide.

These include coatings manufacture, pharmaceutical processing, digital ink filtration, particulate and contaminant removal and laboratory-based separation systems.

Amazon Filters’ Head of UK Sales Lisa Astbury, who will be on the exhibition stand, said: “We design, manufacture and supply viable, robust solutions for filtration systems, however complex.

“By developing appropriate configurations of filters and housings, we support the processing of many high-viscosity substances including resins, sealants, mastics and volatile solvents.

“Our products, backed by ATEX certification, help operators meet tight regulatory standards for the equipment and protective systems used in all kinds of materials and flow velocities, including in explosive atmospheres and other challenging environments.

We work closely with our customers in the chemicals industry - and many other sectors - to design efficient and cost-effective solutions based on their exact specifications.

“That’s true whether the task is to remove particulate contaminants in raw bulk starter chemicals or to classify pigmented inks for use on state-of-the-art printheads.

“We’re thrilled to be returning to ChemUK to discuss the latest developments in our solutions portfolio.”

Among the filter ranges set to be featured is VisClear II. This is specifically designed for chemicals and coatings production. It provides a solution for high-viscosity formulations required to tackle high differential pressures.

VisClear II is an enhanced replacement for all applications that use old technology RBC (resin-bonded cartridge) filters. It is securely enclosed and isolated inside SupaClean, a sealed-bag filter system ideal for corrosive resistant materials, eliminating contamination risks and protecting other components of kit. SupaClean accepts our full range of filter types while providing exceptional operator safety.

We will also be highlighting a new mechanical safety interlock targeted at operators in the chemical, water, pharma, food and beverage, OEM and oil and gas industries.

The accessory prevents an ‘under pressure’ housing from being opened too early and suddenly releasing potentially dangerous components, liquids or substances.

The interlock is suitable for use on Amazon Filters’ 61 and 62 Series three and five-stack cartridge housings, and the 84 and 85 Series bag housings, when using the V-clamp closure.

Between them, the four housings suit most process filtration applications across our target industries including many high-flow and high-pressure situations.

ChemUK takes place at the NEC Birmingham on 10-11 May 2023 and is split into three major show zones. These focus on: the chemical industries supply chain; chemical, process and plant engineering; and, new for 2023, ‘Chemlab’ laboratory and innovation.
