Proposals Engineer

The Role

We are now seeking a new Proposals Engineer to join the Proposals Team in order to provide customer and prospect support. This exciting role requires a broad range of skills and the successful candidate will be required to undertake the following key responsibilities:

  • To prepare technical quotations, datasheets, letters and other documents relating to the promotion of Amazon Filters received direct from the prospect/customer or our External Sales Team.
  • Investigate costs and prepare cost sheets for modification to standard products or for bespoke products. From initial basic design (following existing formats), sourcing materials (internal system or external quotation) and final bid to client.
  • Respond to general and technical enquiries, to include filter cross referencing (learn competitor products), estimating and product sizing
  • Advise clients on product choice and introduce new products
  • Contribute to design ideas by consulting with the sales team and clients
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with the supported accounts
  • To follow up quotations and other enquiries effectively and on time, when requested
  • To maintain customer record cards using the system provided.
  • To work effectively with the External Sales and Customer Service Teams
  • Facilitate discussions between customers, external sales and non-customer facing internal teams in order to effectively handover received orders to the relevant departments
  • Assist with customer concerns and progress through to the relevant department in order to achieve a resolution

 

The Candidate

The successful candidate will find this an interesting and challenging position and should have:

  • A Degree or HNC in Engineering/Science discipline
  • Mechanical engineering bias
  • Experience of estimation costing and technical quotation preparation
  • A mechanical engineering background
  • Internal Sales experience and a customer contact background
  • Knowledge of pressure vessels, filtration or a background in the process industry would be highly desirable
  • Knowledge of pressure vessel design codes such as ASME VIII, PD5500 or EN13445 be highly desirable
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Confidence and drive with the ability to prioritise under pressure
  • Logical and organised approach to daily workloads
  • Computer literate with familiarisation of Microsoft Office, Excel and Word, PDF Editors

Sales Administrator

The Role

We are now seeking a new Sales Administrator to join our busy and friendly Sales Admin Team. The successful candidate will be working to offer efficient and accurate administration support to the Internal and External sales teams and provide excellent customer service to all internal & external customers. The role will be responsible for ensuring all sales orders are loaded in a timely manner, ISO procedures are followed at all times and customer requirements are met where possible.

The Candidate

This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a challenging and interesting position; we are looking for someone with:

  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent at grade C or above (including Maths & English)
  • Demonstrable minimum of 2 year’s customer service experience within an office-based environment
  • Demonstrable minimum of 2 years’ administration experience
  • Computer literate (intermediate or advanced)
  • Good written and verbal communication at all levels
  • Confident and polite telephone manner
  • Good attention to detail with excellent accuracy
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Problem solving & decision-making skills
  • Prioritising & scheduling skills
  • Negotiation skills

Desirable:

  • Experience of working within a manufacturing environment
  • Account management experience
  • Sales order experience
  • Awareness of Incoterms
  • ISO9000 understanding and experience
  • Knowledge of outlook software
  • Knowledge of a CRM system
  • Knowledge of a database system
  • Manufacturing Control Software knowledge
