Back to news ](https://www.amazonfilters.com/company-information/news) The recent appointments of four colleagues are set to help our continued growth as a company. On the international front, we have made two strategic hires, in Malaysia and the United States, to help spearhead our drive into global markets. Both Nizam Mohammed and Silas Kirst join as Business Development Managers and come with impressive track records in senior-level sales roles. Nizam is based in Kuala Lumpur and is responsible for sales and market development in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region while Silas will support our activities in North, Central and South America from an office in Houston, Texas. Nizam, whose career experience includes leading teams in sectors such as oil and gas, steel manufacturing, automotive and marine, said: “Amazon Filters is widely recognised as a leading filter manufacturer that invests substantially in its products and services on behalf of customers. “I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to play my part in its continued growth into new markets.”   Silas has more than 13 years’ experience in sales management directly focused on filtration technologies in different industries. He said: “I will be applying my experience to cultivate lasting relationships with our customers, distributors and partners across the entire region from Argentina, Brazil and Chile in the south all the way up to the United States and Canada.” View our [Global Network](https://www.amazonfilters.com/our-global-network)  In the UK we have welcomed new Proposals Engineer Alex Lowther and Area Account representative Tom Davies. Alex has a first class honours degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Portsmouth and was most recently an engineer at the industrial machinery manufacturer Parker Hannifin which specialises in motion and control technologies. Here at Amazon Filters, he will help prepare technical bids for filtration projects across our growing range of sectors, using both standard and non-standard housing designs. Alex said: “I am looking forward to working alongside fellow engineers and project managers at Amazon Filters, and at our partners and customers, so we can always meet project requirements and ensure a positive outcome.” At the same time, Tom has joined our UK sales team following extensive sales experience in the food and beverage sector. He was previously an account manager at the West Midlands contract bottler Edwin Holdens Bottling before taking on a temporary telesales role with us in 2021. Tom’s new responsibilities include supporting regional sales and market development. He reports directly to Head of UK Sales, Lisa Astbury. Tom said: “Sales and market development is key to the company’s growth plans and I’m keen to play my part in achieving more success.” Amazon Filters Managing Director Neil Pizzey said: “A very warm welcome to Nizam, Silas, Alex and Tom.
