Background

Here are just a few examples of where we have enabled building services customers to keep critical closed loop systems clean, energy efficient and operating cost effectively:

Heathrow Terminal 5: We delivered LTHW (low temperature hot water) side stream filters to ensure high performance and accurate temperature control of T5’s heating and air conditioning system, built to handle an overall volume of 500,000 litres of water. Eight filter housings were installed in each of the terminal’s two main plant rooms to support side stream filtration using our SupaPleat II cartridges. Our input prevents contamination. A BAA supervisor told us: “The filters were manufactured and delivered on time and met all criteria. More importantly, from an operational perspective, they have continued to support BAA on a practical level.”

Chelsea FC: Our filters and housings help ensure the comfort of spectators at the Premier League club’s 40,000-capacity Stamford Bridge Stadium. As part of redevelopment activity, we fabricated and supplied 20-micron SupaGard filters and housings to improve the air supply to corporate hospitality clients in the West Stand. It followed the need to replace old pipework that had deteriorated due to contamination and wear. The filtration products are central to a CHW (chilled water) side stream upgrade and fully boosted pump system that was installed on a condenser circuit to minimise fluid loss.

St Pancras International Station: A substantial increase in passenger numbers coupled with a complex station design and layout prompted the need for additional filters to be installed at the end of each loop on the primary heating and cooling system and the mid point feeding a secondary circuit. We supplied housings and 20-micron SupaGard side stream filters supporting both LTHW and CHW applications.

State Street Bank: The global asset management company maintains a mission-critical data centre at its high-profile European headquarters at Canary Wharf. The building’s large closed loop heating and cooling system involves 200,000 litres of fluid and requires a high level of cleanliness. We installed SupaGard filters and housings to ensure the optimal performance of CHW and LTHW side stream processes. Special flushing filters were required alongside operational filter cartridges.

KilBac technology features high-performance antimicrobial and antialgal additives. These harness micron-sized particles containing active silver, zinc and copper which, combined with a base polymer, combat the growth of bacteria or algae, so extending cartridge life.
