Amazon Filters supports Explorer Scouts' annual camp

Amazon Filters offers all staff the opportunity to use to 2 paid days per year for local volunteering activities.

Alex Lowther, one of our Proposals Team members, chose to use his volunteering days to help local scout group, 1^st Normandy Explorers, run their annual camp. Alex already volunteers with the scouts on evenings and weekends, and was really pleased to have this opportunity; without volunteers the camp could not have gone ahead.  

13 young people got the opportunity to enjoy a week in Norfolk learning life skills such as cooking, camping and cycle maintenance, as well as developing some serious mopping skills.

 Alex says "We got them active with cycle trips, hiking through the night, and plenty of swimming in the sea! They got an opportunity to get more in touch with nature, and many got to see wild seals up close for the first time, and went crabbing, even managed to catch a few (although a few explorers were caught by crabs!)"
