Welding Automation Strengthens Amazon Filters' Reach

Investment into Welding Automation

We have strengthened the capabilities of our welding fabrication shop as part of a major programme of investments designed to boost future growth.

The £0.5 million spend at our European production centre in Camberley, Surrey, will help ensure we maintain and strengthen our ‘quick and able’ market proposition.

The spend includes automated welding equipment, heavy duty craneage and fabrication equipment, ideal for constructing bespoke and large-scale skid assemblies for clients including municipal water companies.

More Control Over Costs, Lead-Times and Flexibility

Managing Director Neil Pizzey said: “Improving our in-house welding and fabrication capability gives us more opportunity to control costs, lead-times and flexibility in managing customer orders. That’s because we’re reducing the need to sub-contract.

“Together with our current investments in cartridge pleating and assembly, and a new metalworking shop with CNC machining, this will support our growth plans.

“We are also making operational investments in the implementation of upgraded ERP software, packing and dispatch technology, and a factory-wide wireless network to support the traceability of any product or component from a mobile device.

“We are well set for the future in terms of production infrastructure and capacity, giving us a platform to boost productivity even further in the next three to five years.”

Amazon Filters has clients in all industrial sectors that deal with process engineering and fluids. As well as municipal water, sectors include oil and gas, chemicals and coatings, and healthcare.

Around 70% of our orders are for export, with more than half of our filter cartridges and housings going to countries in the European Union.
