We are pleased to announce that we have turned to green energy in 2015, by investing in solar panels across all of our units at their premises in Surrey.

We teamed up with Green Power Projects Ltd, commercial and domestic solar panel installers, to incorporate the use of renewable energy across the Amazon Surrey site.  The solar panels were installed across all of the unit roofs and thanks to good weather conditions, the installation was completed on time and with minimal disruption.

Solar panel electricity systems, also known as solar photovoltaics (PV), capture the sun’s energy using photovoltaic cells. This type of electricity is green, renewable energy and doesn’t release any harmful carbon dioxide or other pollutants.  A Solar PV system simply requires daylight to generate electricity. Even daylight on a cloudy day will still generate power.

The solar panel installation brings a number of benefits to the organisation. It enables Amazon Filters to produce their own electricity and therefore reduce their reliance on National Grid, it significantly reduces energy costs and most importantly, it demonstrates Amazon Filters’ commitment to minimising their impact on the environment by reducing the carbon footprint of their site.

Managing Director, Neil Pizzey, said:

“As a company often operating in the environmental protection sectors, this demonstrates our own commitment to renewable energy.”

He continued:

“The installation of the solar panels has created a lot of interest amongst the Amazon Filters team and we are looking forward to achieving the green targets we set out for the company.”
